Using colored and silk paper

Objectives

Creativity

Description

You can create a lantern with your child/ren (maybe for St Martin’s Day or just for decoration) by cutting out an L-shape as shown in the picture as a basic lantern shape and then cutting out different shapes (stars, moons, Christmas trees, etc.). Then take the transparent paper and cover these openings by pasting different pieces of coloured silk paper on the side that will be the inside of your lantern covering all the shaped “holes”. Then fold the t-shape in a way that you can glue the overhanging edges in order to form a “cube”. Place a candle or LED inside for illumination.
