Flash cards
Objectives
Description
When it comes to learning vocabulary for languages for school exams, you can make flash cards. You cut up the cards for the children and they go writing the word in one language on one side and the translation on the other side. Use one colour for each language (saves time when mixing up / turning cards over etc to identify the language). The creation of the cards can take up to about 30 minutes, and you need to double check the spelling. Then, you can practice for 10 minutes each day leading up to the exam. It is easier for them to go from their native language) to the foreign language than the other way round, so you would normally start with that to build up their confidence. Do a number of rounds and remove the ones that they get right first time so each round has less and less cards.
